BEHIND TODAY’S SEXUAL CONFUSION
This blog is about one of those subjects where the Biblical world view and nonbiblical world view clash. The Bible’s evaluation of the current sexual changes going on all around us is rejected by the world. In fact, anything that doesn’t agree with the “anything goes” philosophy is called hatred. What about the great rise in homosexuality, transgender changes and male-female confusion in the last few years?
Satan is “the ruler of this world” (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11). Other passages of Scripture call him “the god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4), and “the prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2), informing us “that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19). Therefore it only makes sense to attribute the great social changes going on around us to his influence as well. They are totally against God’s absolute truth as revealed in the Bible, they are based on self-centered desires for immediate pleasure but bring ultimate emptiness, they divide families and weaken the church and our country. They bring conflict between friends and confusion to many. These are all things Satan wants to accomplish.
I’m not saying there aren’t other contributing social, cultural, medical and/or emotional factors as well, but I am saying its obvious Satan is using them as part of his grand plan to turn people from God to his error and lies. I wouldn’t say all those participating in what is happening today are under the control or influence of demons. I think many are influenced by their own sin nature, by peer pressure, confusion or a desire to rebel or are just lost seeking something to give their life meaning and purpose. But if we could see into the unseen spiritual world around us I believe we would see a strong demonic organization behind all aspects of what is happening today. God opened Elijah and his servants’ eyes to see into this world (2 Kings 6:17; 19:35). The same was true with Daniel 10:11-16. John records many such scenes in the book of Revelation.
Understanding this can help us combat it in our lives and the lives of our family. First, we must not be swayed by the pressure put on us as Christians to accept and agree with their beliefs. We can sympathize with individuals, but never approve of their solutions. We must take a firm stand against anything now supported in the Bible. We must solidify our faith in what the Bible says and not compromise or make any exceptions.
Second, knowing the source behind much of this can help us know how to pray for those caught in its bondage. We can’t ask God to force them to believe, but we can pray their minds would be open so they can clearly see the truth and make an objective free-will choice. We can pray to bind the lies and deceptions that block the truth. We can offer God’s truth to them without arguing. Our testimony of the change Jesus has made in our lives and the meaning and significance He offers is our best offense.
Third, we need to train our children, as well as new Christians, in the truth so they are solidly grounded in the absolute, verifiable certainty of the Bible. That is the duty of every parent, church and Christian.
Prayerfully consider these things. Ask God to lead you into truth and to give you wisdom as you apply His truth to your life and those around you.
2 Timothy 3:14-17 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
