I. AGE 40
A. RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION
Treatment of Jews in slavery
Anger positive motivator: guilt, fear, jealousy
– Jesus temple (weave whip)
Work not fair, child hurt, people to God
Kill guard
B. SINFUL ANGER
1. MALE ANGER – MOSES
Men few emotions, all turns to anger
Anger in sports, war, competition, stand up for self good
Never learned/taught, poor examples
Frustrated, afraid of anger, not know what to do, guilty
WRONG
EXPLOSION blow up
IMPLOSION clam up
Ulcers, nerves, sarcasm, passive-aggressive,
withdraw, depressed, suicide

man: power, control, attention when angry

Cure: CONCEDE CONTROL yield, trust God, serve, patience

Forgive: Jews; God (angry at God); self (depress, dest)
Unforgiveness, bitterness –
others (past), said/done to hurt (who comes to mind?)
God – let down, promotion, parent died, lonely
Self – fail as mate, friend, parent
FRUIT: love, patience, goodness
I need to forgive, seems Zipporah needed to forgive me
2. FEMALE ANGER – ZIPPORAH
Passive-wild: Ab-Sarah; Isaac-Rebecca; Jacob-Rachel
Men fear angry women (manipulated by mother)
Hurt so control by anger to avoid pain
boys, physical strength
girls – emotional strength
Hatshepsut strong-willed woman, anger to control
Wife same: Zipporah first born, no brothers

Husband gone all the time

HANDLE HURT feel sorrow, grieve, forgive

GOD ANGRY – RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION

A. TO SELF
What can you do to help your anger?
When RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION
Be angry but don’t sin
WWJD, ask God to help handle it right
Use right, act, motivated to do right
SINFUL ANGER:
HIDE HURT – HANDLE HURT feel pain, forgive
Forgive because Jesus forgave you (pare forg serv)
PLAN OF SALVATION
Miriam criticize, leprosy
Woman: anger out through tongue, – different phone ring
Prov 15:1 gentle away wrath, harsh word stirs anger
Anger or forgiveness – mainly at family
Men: past: father, mother (Zipporah), grade school
CAPTURE CONTROL – CONCEDE CONTROL
Admit, Confess the PRIDE, FEAR control
Kadesh Barnea, want to kill and return to Egypt
Women: use anger for children to listen
Woman: hard time trust, use anger to control – TRUST!
HOLY SPIRIT – only way to do this!

B. TO MATE
How wife can help you when angry?:
Be friend, supporter, not criticize like mother,
listen, don’t bail out, pray
Not nag, hurt; give necessary control (submit), like before mar
How you can help angry wife:
What is she afraid of? What hurt her?
Is insecurity causing her to try and control things?
Meet needs: security, apologize, etc
